Hmmm...
To do:
  • Older versions of the game looked very different, along with having simpler animations and less things to do. The model for John himself was somewhat different, too.
  • Frozen City has very minor differences between versions, but plays exactly the same.

Talking John Dog is basically Talking Tom Cat, but made by a completely different developer to capitalize on the original's success.

In fairness, it also has some mini-games and more actions to do.

Unused Sprites

Leftover Background

Before the game transferred to the Unity engine, the game used a very different engine. In which meant the developers couldn't easily replace the background, in which some leftover sprites can be found in the Sharedassets, as newer versions of the game use a transparent cropped version of the sprites for John Dog instead.

Revisional Differences

App Icon

The app icon from the original 2011 version has an older render of John, compared to the newer releases, Frozen City has an environment rather than a solid color, and John's expression is different, and the currently used icon has bigger eyes and background color was changed to green in which is similar to Talking Tom 2's icon.

Engine Differences

Older versions of the game use a completely different engine, while newer versions use Unity.

Minigame Differences

Older versions of the game only had 4 mini-games in the game, while newer versions have 29.
