Talking Ben is an interaction-based game starring the titular canine.

Debug Mode

By using external programs to edit the settings file, a debug mode can be activated. This shows every clickable spot that triggers an animation, with the names of that animation and the time it was triggered at the top of the screen. Note that the file is stored on a folder which requires root permission to access.

Revisional Differences

Back in 2011, the UI of the game looked completely different from its newer counterpart.

Game Data Downloading to SD Card

This message was used in the mid-2011 Android version of Talking Ben to save space from 49 MB to 8 MB. It was also used in other apps from Outfit7 such as Talking Tom, Talking Tom and Ben News and Talking Pierre. This was removed in newer versions.

As of now, the download servers are still working.

Completely different in the original 2011 version. It also doesn't contain the Talking Friends branding, and it has a white background.

In-Game

Version Image Description
1.0 - 1.2 (Android) TalkingBen-2011-InGame.png In versions 1.0 to 1.2, the left side of the newspaper had a Chuck Norris meme, with the header mentioning that Talking Tom "outgoogled" him. Also, there is a picture of Larry the Bird in the bottom-right corner. The right side features in advertisement for the now-defunct Talking Lila the Fairy app, with a picture of Gina the Giraffe in the bottom-right corner. In the top-right corner, there was originally a framed picture of Ben in his graduate outfit that could be interacted with. The UI is also different, but, hey, at least we have no ads!
1.0 - 1.2 (iOS) Talking Ben 1.0 Newspaper iOS.jpg The same as the Android version except with the Chuck Norris picture being replaced by a Steve Jobs picture. Also, the header has different text.
2.0 Talking Ben 2.0 Newspaper.jpg In version 2.0, the picture frame was removed and the newspaper was changed to contain advertising for Outfit7 Superstar Toys and Talking Ginger 2. The buttons were also changed to how they appear in the final version.
3.0 - 3.1 Talking Ben Version 3.0.jpg In versions 3.0 and 3.1, the newspaper was changed to have advertising for Talking Tom and Friends plush toys and My Talking Tom. The buttons for the phone and lab were swapped, and the settings icon was changed to be a smiley face.
3.2 - 3.3 Talking Ben Version 3.2.jpg In versions 3.2 and 3.3, the newspaper was changed to have advertising for the Talking Tom and Friends show and My Talking Angela.
3.4 Talking Ben Version 3.4.jpg In version 3.4, the newspaper was changed to how it is in the current version of the game, having Tom, Ben, Angela, Ginger, and Hank from the Talking Tom & Friends show on it.
Present TalkingBen-Present-InGame.png The only difference here from version 3.4 is the addition of the other game's icon.

As mentioned before, the now-removed framed picture of Ben in his graduate outfit could be interacted with.
